Tiger Woods has talked about how he would like to play a Nike SasQuatch Sumo2 model - Nike's square driver - but the launch angle, he says is too high. The results, they say is a more forgiving head and a more consistently square face delivered to the ball at impact for straighter drives.īut there are still some issues with square drivers. The square allows engineers to move more mass to the back corners of the clubhead, which reduces torque or twisting of the club at impact.
"They say it looks better, sounds better and performs better than the other square - or high MOI (moment of inertia) drivers on the market." "We picked a few select retailers to do a test on the 3DX Square and it turns out we have never had a hotter product," says Nick sales chief Ian Zubkoff. This time Nickent Golf - a well known brand in the US but yet to make its mark in the UK - is introducing a 3DX square driver, after allegedly sending dozens of samples to key retailers and getting a positive response. I rotate putters out often, but I enjoy putting with this one.Just when you thought it was safe to say that the square driver revolution might subsiding and perhaps TaylorMade's boss Mark King was right after all - out comes another rectangular club. I am not used to that, but think I like it.īottom line - I like the putter and will keep it in the bag a few more times.
The other 4 I hit the putt where I wanted, just read it wrong. 35 putts, not very good on the surface.I played on greens with subtle breaks, and they ran about 10 on the Stimp.
Quick update from first round in the books. This is not the putter on the Nickent site, it doesn't have any "3D" alignment aids. Has anyone seen or heard of this putter? I searched google and couldn't find anything. It is easy to align, and the insert has a soft but solid feel. The putter is nicely weighted at 35", and really helps me make a straight back thru stroke. I'm not sure if I will keep this putter if the additional weights and tool aren't included. I bought the putter but he is calling Nickent today to understand if the putter should come with weights, a tool to change them out, etc. The salesperson could not locate additional weights to swap out with these. What is interesting is that there are adjustable sole weights. The head is black with the back part of the mallet white with a black alignment stripe. There is a full face milled insert (aluminum maybe?), and comes with a nice white Golf Pride Players Wrap grip. It is model #3, a face balanced semi mallet, 35*. While there I noticed a Nickent Tour Series Omen putter with adjustable sole weights. Last night I went to Dick's Sporting Goods to hit the new Nickent F26 hybrid.
